Do you have an interest in social justice? Want to learn more about mass incarceration and racial justice? Attend one (or several) events during Justice Education Week. Justice Education Week is a mostly in-person week-long event that runs April 23–29, 2022. The hope is to bring awareness to the crisis of incarceration, its human impact, and build support for transformative educational movements in carceral settings and beyond. 

Saturday, April 23, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 24, 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. - Restorative Circle Training and Event: The week kicks off with a focus on restorative justice by hosting a training on restorative circles and a themed restorative circle session.

Monday, April 25, 5:00–6:00 p.m. -  Keynote:  Our keynote speaker will discuss abolitionist teachings and its importance on education and the carceral system.

Tuesday, April 26, 6:00–7:30 p.m. -Reentry Support in Centre County: Will focus on support for community members that experienced incarceration, including discussion with Penn State's Pardon Project and their Pardon fellow.

Wednesday, April 27, 6:00–7:30 p.m. - Barriers To Reenty : Events will focus on support for incarcerated and justice-impacted students, including the screening of College Behind Bars followed by a panel discussion 

Thursday, April 28, 6:00–7:30 p.m. - Educational Reform: Events will pivot from prison reform to highlight education's role in ushering students into the carceral system. 

Friday, April 29, 3:30 p.m. - Reentry: The focal points include barriers to reentry, including a reentry simulation where participants are in the shoes of formerly incarcerated individuals reintegrating.
