College can be a powerful way to help students climb the socioeconomic ladder, but only if they get help in figuring out the institutional rules, structures, and opportunities — and how those connect to the wider world.  Scott Carlson, a writer for The Chronicle of Higher Education and co-author of Hacking College, will talk about the Field of Study Method at the center of the book, and how it connects to trends in higher education. Josh Morrison, the director of academic retention programs at the University of Indianapolis, will discuss the ways that he is using Field of Study in his own work and his collaboration with student-success professionals across the country on Hacking College curricula.
