Abstract: 

Peer advising and mentoring programs can be a powerful tool in strengthening student success, building community, and enhancing the overall experience for new and continuing students. At The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), peer mentoring has played a vital role in the college’s new student seminar courses, in addition to other programs across campus. These student leaders connect our newest populations to faculty, staff, and campus resources while also providing transitional guidance to help students become acclimated to college life. Join the conversation to learn more about the nuts and bolts of peer mentoring and how these programs can play an important role on your campus.
