Abstract:

As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to reshape education, work, and communication, academic advisors play a critical role in helping students make thoughtful, future-ready decisions. This session introduces AI in clear, accessible terms, then explores what both students and employers are increasingly seeking: digital fluency, ethical reasoning, and adaptable skillsets that can evolve alongside technology. Advisors will learn how to recognize AI’s cross-disciplinary influence and guide students in selecting courses, majors, and co-curricular experiences that build durable, future-proof skills. The session includes real-world advising scenarios and offers practical tools for integrating AI literacy into conversations about academic planning, career pathways, and student success.
