Withdrawal Deadline

If you’re doing poorly in most or all of your classes, talk to an academic adviser as soon as possible about your options. Withdrawal from the University may be appropriate depending on your circumstances. These decisions should be discussed with your adviser as well as family members and Student Aid. If you choose to withdraw, the deadline is Friday, April 29.

DUS Student Survey

DUS has an ongoing goal to ensure that all DUS students have access to quality academic advising. To enhance and strengthen how we support you through academic advising, we invite you to complete a brief survey. We value your thoughts and will use the information gathered to carefully assess and further develop our approach to supporting students. Events and Announcements: 
Justice Education Week
University Park

Do you have an interest in social justice? Want to learn more about mass incarceration and racial justice? Attend one (or several) events during Justice Education Week. Justice Education Week is a mostly in-person week-long event that runs April 23–29, 2022. The hope is to bring awareness to the crisis of incarceration, its human impact, and build support for transformative educational movements in carceral settings and beyond. 

Monday, April 25, 5:00–6:00 p.m. -  Keynote:  Our keynote speaker will discuss abolitionist teachings and their importance in education and the carceral system.

Tuesday, April 26, 6:00–7:30 p.m. - Reentry Support in Centre County: Will focus on support for community members that experienced incarceration, including discussion with Penn State's Pardon Project and their Pardon fellow.

Wednesday, April 27, 6:00–7:30 p.m. - Barriers To Reentry: Events will focus on support for incarcerated and justice-impacted students, including the screening of College Behind Bars followed by a panel discussion 

Thursday, April 28, 6:00–7:30 p.m. - Educational Reform: Events will pivot from prison reform to highlight education's role in ushering students into the carceral system. 

Friday, April 29, 3:30 p.m. - Reentry: The focal points include barriers to reentry, including a reentry simulation where participants are in the shoes of formerly incarcerated individuals reintegrating.

Restorative Circles Discussions
University Park

Join the Students' Restorative Justice Initiative as they present Restorative Circles. Restorative practices create space for dialogue that builds community and affirms the humanity of all involved. Sessions are held in 236 Chambers from 6:00–7:30 p.m. on the following dates:

Quick Question Advising
University Park

Have a question that can be resolved in a short 5–10 minute conversation? Join us for quick question advising via Zoom on the dates and times below. Some acceptable topics include: discussing adding/dropping courses within deadlines; getting a form signed; using LionPATH; reviewing entrance-to-major requirements; learning about general education information not related to schedule planning; and transferring credits. Quick question advising is not intended for in-depth conversations.

Here's the Quick Question Advising (QQA) process at University Park:

  • All QQA is held only via Zoom during the hours listed below. Note that this only applies to University Park. Each campus advising office manages appointments differently.
  • After you check in to the waiting room using the link below, check your Penn State email continuously for an "Adviser is Ready" notification with connection instructions for Zoom. Join the Zoom room immediately upon receiving the email. 

QQA hours for spring 2022:

Monday 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Tuesday 9:00–11:00 a.m.
Wednesday 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Thursday 1:00–3:00 p.m.

Perreault Fellows Program
University Park

Are you a second-year student interested in studying abroad in summer 2023 (next year)? Do you have an interest in pursuing a career related to health and the betterment of the human condition? Apply for up to $7,500 in aid with the Perreault Fellows Program. The Perreault Fellows Program supports international internship opportunities for talented undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds who are interested in pursuing careers related to health and the betterment of the human condition broadly speaking. The program will enable students from select Penn State colleges to immerse themselves in interdisciplinary and experiential learning abroad. Also, fellows will engage in personal and professional development workshops, retreats, and mentoring sessions. Lastly, fellows will engage in community service throughout the program. This global leadership development program is built on the principles of inclusion, ethics, global awareness, and service. 

Application deadline: September 10, 2022
Internship dates: Summer 2023

Free Wellness Services
University Park

Health Promotion and Wellness is offering free Wellness Services for students. The services are designed to help students increase knowledge and learn new skills that contribute to healthy behaviors and academic success. Services are available for:

  • Healthy Relationships and Sexual Health
  • Nutrition/Healthy Eating
  • Physical Activity
  • Sleep
  • Stress (Relaxation and Time Management)

Each service includes three 1-hour sessions with trained peer educators and HPW Staff. Schedule an appointment by using the myUHS page.
