News:
Best Wishes from the Associate Dean

Dear Students,

It's amazing to think that we are already at the end of the spring semester. As you complete final exams and other assignments, take time to reflect on the learning you have accomplished this academic year. It's important not to base that just on grades but to truly reflect on the ways that challenges and successes alike have allowed you to grow and to become a better student.

Even as you look inward, do not hesitate to reach out. Academic advisers in DUS are available over the summer, and we are here to help you as you continue to give thought to your ongoing studies at Penn State. Each of you makes Penn State a better place and we are honored that you are part of the Division of Undergraduate Studies.

Ideally, the coming summer months will provide everyone some downtime to enjoy friends, partners, and family. Be safe, and do not hesitate to reach out if we in DUS can be of any help.

Best wishes,

David R. Smith
Associate Dean for Advising and
  Executive Director
The Division of Undergraduate Studies

There are three ways you can talk with a DUS adviser at University Park (Note: DUS students at other campuses or at other colleges at University Park should check how advising services are being offered where you are):

  • 20–30 minute scheduled appointment with your assigned adviser over Zoom or in person.
  • Quick question advising (QQA) with any DUS adviser over Zoom or in person. No appointment is needed. Quick question advising will be held Monday through Thursday from 9:00–11:00 a.m. You can find the link to the QQA waiting room on the DUS appointments webpage.
  • Email your assigned adviser.
