I believe that helping others is the secret to a fulfilling life. Academic advising gives me the opportunity to meet some really great, interesting people that I might be able to help in some way to be successful in their lives.

I have the following pets (at the moment)... two cats – Portia, a green-eyed tuxedo cat, and Athena, a blue- and yellow-eyed white cat. Portia is really good at being my alarm clock. She yells at the top of her lungs most days anywhere between 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

My favorite place I have traveled is... the Galápagos Islands (Ecuador). I have been to some beautiful places in the States, the Caribbean, South America, and Europe, but the most interesting trip was my family’s excursion to the Galápagos Islands. Exploring the natural beauty of the archipelago that Charles Darwin also explored was the experience of a lifetime.

My bucket list consists of... traveling the world more. Hawaii, Alaska, Iceland, Europe, and Australia are places I want to experience soon!

My childhood dreams were... to be a doctor, an astronaut, a jet pilot, a professional soccer player, and a chemist.

The most unusual thing in my office... is a very cute, crocheted Erlenmeyer flask – it even has eyes. Can you guess its name?
