The college student has the task of creating meaning out of her or his learning, or alternatively, of creating a curriculum, or an education out of the raw materials of the various courses that she or he takes. The advisor is the student’s coach in this process, and the role is an essential one. – Marc Lowenstein

My favorite job (other than DUS) was teaching a painting class to adults in the community.

You may not know this about me, but I can play Beethoven’s Fur Elise and compose music, but I am unable (or unwilling?) to read music.

When it comes to sports, I wish I could still jump hurdles like I did in high school track.

If I could only listen to one band the rest of my life it would be The Beatles.

My favorite things to eat are pizza, popcorn, and pretzels.

An interesting thing about my family is that my husband, daughter, and I were all born on a Thursday morning.

My favorite Gen Ed course at Penn State was Intro to Stress Management (GHA). I still use the techniques I learned in the class. It helped me through grad school!
