Chan
My name is Chan, and my life changed when I moved to the United States. It is a big world for me here, especially with the little English experience I have. I am working very hard to achieve my goal of continuing my education in the U.S.
My life changed in another big way when I was accepted at Penn State, which is a big campus with a diverse group of students. I was very happy to come to Penn State, but at the same time, I was worried that I did not know which major I should go for. It was great news for me to learn that Penn State has the Division Undergraduate Studies (DUS). It is a great program that has guided me toward my favorite major--Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management (HRIM)--which I was able to discuss and explore with my adviser.
When I was a freshman and undecided about which major I wanted, I always made appointments to meet with my adviser, and she guided me with great advice about majors that might fit my interests. I am now a sophomore studying HRIM, and I am very happy. I am confident that DUS helped me to find the path I want to take after I graduate from Penn State.
