EXAMINATIONS FOR FAILURE ELIMINATION
(Senate Policy 44-45)

Under extraordinary circumstances a special exam for the removal of a failing grade may be given. Such examinations are graded no higher than a D, and this, if obtained, is the final grade for the course. Written approval of the head of the department, the appropriate dean of the college in which the course is offered, and the appropriate dean of the student's college is necessary.

The University may make changes in policies, procedures, educational offerings, and requirements at any time. Please consult a Penn State academic adviser for more detailed information.
