Welcome, parents and families, to the Division of Undergraduate Studies!
Approximately 80 percent of Penn State's entering first-year students are not sure about their choice of major. Many enroll in DUS because they want to explore their options before choosing a field of study. Other students enroll in DUS to meet specific entrance requirements in the college or major they plan to enter.
In all cases, academic advisers in the Division of Undergraduate Studies provide guidance to students seeking assistance and routinely partner with parents and families of students who are adjusting to college life and exploring majors. Advisers can help parents learn how best to support their students as they begin to engage in various opportunities at Penn State and start to manage their own academic goals.
