Tom Harrington
I was born and raised in the Birthplace of Little League Baseball, Williamsport, PA but I have lived in and around State College since 2001.
Even though my degree is in Meteorology, I discovered through my coursework and intership experiences at Penn State that I had a real passion for graphic design. After my graduation from Penn State and while I was working at AccuWeather here in State College, I decided to pursue my Master's Certificate in Web Design through Sessions Online School of Design (now Sessions College for Professional Design). Through a lot of time and effort after work hours and on weekends, I completed my Master's Certificate in August of 2008.
My decision to return to school and continue my education opened a variety of doors to positions within the design field. Before arriving in the Division of Undergraduate Studies, I was a Web Designer for AccuWeather and was the Multimedia Specialist for another department at Penn State, Administrative Information Services (a unit of ITS). Now that I'm a part of DUS, I'm excited to create new websites and tools for all of the people the Division serves.
Outside of work, you can find me doing a variety of things. I am a huge sports fan and love following my favorite teams or playing in local sports leagues. I also enjoy listening to and playing music, exploring the world of microbrewing and homebrewing and hanging out with my wife, family and friends.
